We are exactly eight weeks out from pyro firing everywhere inside Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to mark the beginning of WrestleMania 42.
The Royal Rumble is in the rearview mirror, Elimination Chamber looms, and the wrestling industry is about to hit it’s stride during the busiest part of the businesses’ calendar year. At least that’s the typical vibe around pro wrestling as February wraps up. Not exactly the case in 2026. WrestleMania 42 isn’t sold out yet. Not even close.
The show has it’s main event in the form of CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Wrestling fans care about that one, but apparently not enough to shell out obscene amounts of hard-earned money to see it live and in-person.
Low WrestleMania ticket sales
According to WrestleTix, the WWE has currently sold 35,690 tickets to WrestleMania Saturday this year and 36,372 to WrestleMania Sunday. Both of those numbers are significantly lower than the tickets moved for WrestleMania 41 last year.
Does this bother WWE? Probably. Did the WWE call a special meeting to address the slow ticket sales for the event? Reportedly. Have WWE put tickets on a discount to jolt WrestleMania sales back to life? Yes.
Does the company really care, though? Like, care enough to actually rethink their ticket strategy? Enough to try and trot out a mega-dream match of some kind? That’s a hard no and it’s easy to see why.
Look, despite special meetings and discount pricing, WWE isn’t surprised that tickets to WrestleMania 42 this year are moving at a much slower pace than last year. This reality isn’t shocking them.
