So, Will Ospreay cut a promo on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
Honestly, most of it was excellent. Focused. Direct. Likable. Authentic. Probably sold a couple Forbidden Door PPV buys.
To get to the good stuff, you had to withstand some weird stuff. Ospreay was recently married to fellow AEW star, Alex Windsor. For some reason, near the start of this week’s promo, Ospreay decided to graphically describe his wedding night with Windsor.
The quote was this: “I got a good wife, man. So here’s what I did to treat her. I took her upstairs, I smashed the life out of her, bruv. I said, ‘Babe, clean yourself up, I gotta go to Houston.'”
Now, my initial reaction to that part of the promo was … wait, what? In what world did that promo need those lines? I get that Ospreay was talking about being at Dynamite and not on a honeymoon, but c’mon. It didn’t make much sense. After that, life went on and Dynamite was enjoyable.
