This is a rant.
I didn’t want it to be, but things got rolling, one thing led to another, and here we are. It’s not my fault.
AEW isn’t going anywhere. For the bad faith actors out there that are pining for it’s demise, keep pining. Except, pine quietly to yourselves, so nobody has to hear you.
Seven years is a long time
When the bell rings for Double or Nothing 2026 to begin on PPV in a couple weeks, AEW will have officially existed for seven years. That’s a long time.
If for some reason predicting the death of a wrestling promotion struck your fancy, I would maybe have given you a pat on the back or a fist bump had that prediction come to fruition in 2021. It’s 2026.
All you get now is an eye roll and a chuckle. So gather round bad faith actors and hear me. If AEW does go out of business at some point, you didn’t “call it” anymore.
I bring this up because the need to be right on AEW going away or even right about any potential weakness the company may have has become an odd obsession for some. So, please stop it. It doesn’t count anymore. You didn’t predict anything. Find something better to do with your time.
