-The Stand & Deliver fallout show started off with a pretty good tag team match with Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan successfully defending their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against Tatum Paxley and Gigi Dolin. There wasn’t much drama around the finish, but the match beats were fine. Paxley and Dolin don’t really have an entry point to the main roster outside of this team, so it’s nice to see them coming together and embracing tagging.
Saints the star
-Solid promo from Ricky Saints. He commands the room when he’s on NXT television and continues to showcase an “it” factor that not a lot of others in the men’s division have on the show.
-Holy crap. Noam Dar is back? He’s still on the roster??? WWE is trolling me with him as Heritage Cup Champion. If you can’t tell, Dar really is a one trick pony and doesn’t have much value for the show. How he continues to get opportunities and championship wins is beyond me.
-Thea Hail vs. Fallon Henley didn’t get much time to be anything, but it’s nice to see Hail back in action on a weekly basis. Hail has a bigger upside than Henley because she’s more charismatic, but neither is on a fast track to Raw or Smackdown.
World Title Picture
-The interaction between Joe Hendry, Trick Williams, and Oba Femi was compelling material. Williams is leaning more and more heel nowadays and that’s fine, especially if he’s going to do a big job to Femi before he heads to the main roster. Once he gets up there, Williams is a natural babyface, though. As for Hendry, this seemed like an appearance with the sole purpose of just showing Hendry on television with big NXT stars ahead of Rebellion on PPV. That said, Hendry vs. Trick and Hendry vs. Hendry are matches I’d like to see.
-DarkState continues to get a big push and I continue to roll my eyes. Nothing about these guys screams “must-see” and I don’t see a standout leader or singles act in the faction right now either. The push will help them, but only to a certain point. Someone has to standout and soon.
Emotion
-Maybe it’s kind of crazy to say this or I’m still reeling from Vegas, but the follow-up to The D’Angelo Family drama from Stand & Deliver and Stacks turning heel was the best part of the show this week. Everyone played things perfectly and they built a lot of emotion around the eventual showdown between Stacks and Tony D’Angelo. Really good stuff.
-Chase University is back??? Well, it’s about damn time.
-Stephanie Vaquer vs. Roxanne Perez was a good match and main event for the show, but far below what they can deliver. This wasn’t meant to be an epic showdown, though. For what it was, it was good. Vaquer looks primed to feud with Guilia at this point and that’s the smart call given that both could be bound for the main roster at any moment.
Three jobs?
-What’s going on with Perez? Is she on Raw? Smackdown? She’s now done three jobs in a row for NXT. Not exactly a premiere way to ready someone for a big push on the main roster.
